Non-Toxic Dishwasher Pods

Materials
- Baking soda
- Citric Acid
- dōTerra Essential Oils such as lemon or grapefruit
- dōTerra On Guard Oil
- dōTerra On Guard Cleaner Concentrate
- Ice cube trays silicone works best
- Mixing bowl
- Measuring spoons
Instructions
Mixing the Ingredients:
- In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of baking soda, 3/4 cup of citric acid, 2 TBSP On Guard Cleaner Concentrate, 10 drops On Guard Essential Oil, and 10 drops of Lemon Essential Oil.
- Mix the mixture until all ingredients are incorporated. It will have a damp, sand-like consistency.
- Stir the ingredients well to ensure an even distribution of the essential oils.
- The mixture should be slightly damp with a sand-like consistency.
Molding and Drying:
- Spoon the mixture into ice cube trays, pressing it down firmly to pack it in.
- You will notice that the pods will puff up; just pack it down firmly into the trays using your finger. You may need to do this 3 or 4 times.
- Allow the pods to dry and harden for 24-48 hours in a dry, well-ventilated area.
- Carefully pop out the pods from the ice cube trays once completely dry.
- Store the all-natural dishwasher pods in an airtight container to retain their freshness and effectiveness.
Notes
If you have hard water, you may have to add vinegar to dishwasher. Add in the bottom or put a small jar in the top rack.
