These Garlic Buttered Cheese Biscuits are a homemade Red Lobster copy-cat favorite—soft, fluffy, cheesy, and brushed with rich garlic butter. Made with simple pantry staples, they come together quickly and pair perfectly with soups, chowders, and hearty farm-style meals. Ideal for weeknight dinners or special gatherings.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup cold butter cubed
- 1 cup whole milk or buttermilk
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese sharp is best
Herb Garlic Butter Topping
- ¼ cup butter melted
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
- Pinch of salt
Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt.
Garlic Herb Butter Finish
While the biscuits bake, make the butter mixture. Mix melted butter with garlic powder, parsley, oregano, and salt. As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, brush the tops generously with the garlic-herb butter. Don’t be shy—this is where the flavor lives.
