Freshen Your Home Naturally: Easy DIY Deodorizing Disks

These DIY deodorizing disks combine baking soda, cornstarch, and doTERRA essential oils for a natural, long-lasting air freshener. Perfect for garbage bins, closets, or any spot that needs a burst of clean freshness.

Materials

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 20 drops doTERRA Purify Essential Oil
  • 20 drops doTERRA Lemon Essential Oil
  • 1/2 cup water add slowly, one teaspoon at a time
  • silicone mold or muffin tin
  • air freshener aluminum tins

Instructions

  • Mix the Base: In a medium bowl, combine baking soda and cornstarch.
  • Add the Oils: Stir in 20 drops each of doTERRA Purify and Lemon essential oils for a clean, uplifting aroma.
  • Add Water Gradually: Slowly add water (approx. ½ cup), a teaspoon at a time, until the mixture forms a thick, paste-like consistency.
  • Mold It: Spoon the paste into silicone molds or a muffin tin.
  • Dry Completely: Let the disks sit for 24–48 hours until fully hardened.
  • Freshen Your Space: Once dry, pop one into a tin or directly place it where you need it most.
