Best Golden Italian Salad Dressing Recipe (Easy & Fresh)

Kathy Moulding
This golden Italian salad dressing recipe is fresh, tangy, and ready in just 5 minutes. Made with olive oil, white wine vinegar, herbs, parmesan, and a touch of maple syrup, it’s a simple homemade alternative to store-bought dressings—full of flavor and easy to customize.

Equipment

  • Small mixing bowl or jar
  • Whisk or fork
  • Measuring spoons
  • Airtight container with a tight-fitting lid (if storing)

Ingredients

  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon homemade Italian seasoning blend
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup

Instructions

Step 1:

  • In a bowl or jar, add the olive oil and white wine vinegar.

Step 2:

  • Mix Italian seasoning, garlic powder, minced garlic, salt and black pepper.

Step 3:

  • Add the Dijon mustard and maple syrup. This is where the dressing gets its signature balance of tangy and slightly sweet.

Step 4:

  • Stir in the parsley and parmesan cheese.

Step 5:

  • Whisk or shake until everything is fully combined and slightly emulsified.

Step 6:

  • This step matters more than people think. Want it sweeter? Add a touch more maple syrup. Want more tang? Add a splash of vinegar or lemon juice. Need more depth? Add a pinch of salt

How to Store

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
Keeps fresh for up to 5–7 days.
Give it a good shake before using (natural separation is normal)
